A number of Chirnside Chasers were taking part for their respective schools against the best in Scotland. Representing Berwickshire High School Keira Waddel threw a new PB of 34.69 which was a new Scottish Schools record and enough to win the gold medal in the U15 age group. Fellow Berwickshire High school pupil Alexandra Vallance took part in the Over 16 category and produced a brilliant throw of 31.98 which was a new PB and good enough for silver medal. Ali was also selected to represent scotland in 2 upcoming matches in July and september so well done Ali. Tammie Hunter also from Berwickshire competed in the U14 Shot Putt, however Tammie injured her shoulder during her warm up and although she still managed to complete her 3 throws she didn’t throw her best. Jamie Kinghorn, Rory Williams both from Berwickshire High School and Josh Abbott from Kelso High school competed in the 800m U15 group with Josh coming 2nd and Rory third in the same heat placing 9th and 11th overall just missed out as it was the first eight through to the final. Josh Abbott and Jamie kinghorn both ran in the 300m with Josh comfortably making the final, it wasnt to be though as Josh finished 7th in a time of 40.79. Erin Moran from Berwickshire High School jumped in the U14 High jump and just missed out on a PB with a jump of 1.35m, erin also competed in the u14 Long Jump and finished in an excellent 4th place just missing out on a medal but with a new PB of 4.56m. Finally Archie Fuller also from Berwickshire High school took part in the u14 high jump and managed a new PB of 1.41 which for his age group takes him to 5th in scotland.
