Chirnside Chasers took 11 athletes up to the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday to compete in the Scottish National Open.The nature of these events is to not so much to win your race but attain the best time/distance that you can,a bench mark for the start of the indoor season.

The 800m was first up with Josh Abbott, Jamie Kinghorn ,Hannah Hamilton- Meilkle ,Daniel Ross taking part first to race was Josh finishing a fantastic second in his heat shaving almost 5 seconds off in a new PB of 2 mins 11 secs. Jamie was next to run and won his heat winning it in some style and taking 11 secs of his time for a PB of 2.19s.Hannah up next in her heat with a good run of 2.42.Daniel waited patiently for his turn and ran a great race in 3.02s

60m sprints up next with the Chasers newest runner up Patrick Swan ran a quick race of 7.43 seconds.

Josh up again in the 300m this time running another Pb of 40.66 seconds. Erin Moran ran in the 200m with a great time of 30.87 seconds to a PB. Harry Fuller ran the longest race of the day the 1500m in a new PB of  5 minutes 16 sec.

Over to the field events Shot Putt with Hannah throwing 7.75m, Archie Fuller throwing 6.61m, Heather Kinghorn throwing 5.83m ,Kiera Waddell throwing 8.16m and Daniel throwing 4m.All Pbs from the throwers.

Joey Brown and Harry took part in the high jump. Joey jumping 1.46m and Harry 1.37m. Long jumpers up next Erin jumped 4.27m , Joey 4.72m , Daniel 2.91m all PBs.

This Saturday should be forthwith called PB Saturday.
