peebles xc 2013

15 Chasers traveled to Peebles this weekend for the third round of the Borders Cross Country Series. The twelve juniors and three seniors who made the trip on Sunday were rewarded by unseasonably mild weather, a big change from the wintry conditions which greeted them at the same round last year. The club was again very well represented by its junior runners, with 9 runners competing in the 8-11 years age group. Rory Williams again ran an amazing race finishing in first place in the boys 8-11 category, closely followed by Jamie Kinghorn 3rd, Harry Fuller 10th, Oliver Stewart 14th, Archie Fuller 20th, Charlie Stewart 22nd and Daniel Ross 26th. For the girls aged 8-11 Jade Longstaff and Isla Taylor both ran well finishing in 13th and 16th place respectively and Heather Kinghorn showed great courage finishing the race after falling badly. For the older boys Josh Abbott finished in 5th place for the 12-13 year olds and Declan White finished 8th in the 14-15 years category.
Three Seniors made the trip to compete for the Chasers, George McMullan finished in 35th place with a highly competitive time of 31.44, Stephen Ross was 92nd in 36.56 and Chirnside Chasers newcomer of the year Euan MacGregor finished in 103rd place in 38.11.
