On 6th September ,12 young Chasers travelled to Newcastle’s Quayside to take part in the Junior and Mini Great North Run’s.
The Mini races off 1.5km were first with Kyle Taylor , Harris Ross and Laura Fuller taking part.In the boys race Kyle finished in a magnificent 3rd place and Harris in the top 20 both boys running with guts and determination.In the girls race Laura Fuller finished in a great 4th place with an equally determined run.
The afternoon races started with girls 9-10 year old in which Isla Taylor and Emily Martin ran in a longer race of 4km.Both the girls ran great races,Isla in a time of 19.19 in 28th place and Emily in 21.43. 68th place.Rachel Hudson ran in the girls 11-12 year old race and finished in 22.43 in 132nd pace.
Next up was the boys 9-10 age group race with Daniel Ross who finished in 18.08 in 118th place Charlie Stewart in 17.57 in 31st place and Oliver Stewart in 19th place in a time of 17.22 a great result for all these boys with 578 starters in the race.The next wave was the boys 11-12 year old in which Jamie Kinghorn finished in 25th place in a time of 16.25, a new PB, and Lewis Martin in 212th place in 21.08 the race had 450 boys starting.Joey Brown ran in the boys 13-14 year old wave and finished in a great 18th place in 15.02 also a new PB also Joey raised a magnificent sum of money for Huntington’s disease Scotland nearly £900.
