Rain was predicted for the day, however the sun shone on Team Borders and they came home with a win winning both on the track and in the field which makes them joint leaders overall and makes for an exciting final match in June. Chirnside Chasers had 13 chasers taking part at last Saturday’s match.
Kyle Taylor ran in the 600m for U11 boys as the A runner in a time of 1.55 and came in 3rd place. Kyle also ran in the 4x100m with 3 other Team Borders members and blew the competition away coming in 1st in a time of 60.9 for the second match in a row. Finally Kyle also competed in the Shot put as the B Thrower and came in 1st with a throw of 5.40, fantastic effort Kyle. Oliver Stewart ran in the U13 boys 1500m as the A runner and ran a fantastic race keeping steady and put in a great final sprint to come 4th not bad as he usually runs 800m well done Oliver. Hannah Hamilton-Meikle was our winning 3 eventer and gained the most points for team borders she was running in the U13 girls 1500m and claimed a time of 5.34 coming in 2nd, she then threw 17.29 in the Javelin as the A thrower coming in 2nd and then finally competed in the Long Jump as the A jumper with a jump of 4.00m comiing in 1st place fantastic effort from Hannah well done. Oscar Onley competed in the 1500m U15 boys as the B runner coming in 1st in a time of 4.46 a new PB for Oscar so well done. Erin Moran ran in the U15 girls 4x100m with her Team borders team mates and they came in 4th in a time of 57.9, Erin also competed in the High Jump and jumped 1.35m coming in 2nd, great effort from Erin still recovering from an injury. Josh Abbott and Ben Evans both competed in the U15 boys 4x100m and stormed to finish in 1st place leaving the competition behind in a time of 49.3. Josh then competed in the High Jump as the A Jumper jumping 1.50 which is a huge PB for him and coming in a fantastic 3rd place not bad for no training well done Josh. Tammie Hunter was another competitior in the 4x100m Under 13 girls coming in 3rd in a time of 48.9 she also competed in the Javelin and claimed a throw of 17.02 as the B Thrower coming in 1st so well done Tammie. Archie Fuller came in 6th in the U13 boys Long Jump as the A jumper with a jump of 3.68m he then went on to throw 21.26 in the U13 boys Javelin as the A thrower coming in 3rd place. Harris Ross the newcomer to the Forth Valley League was picked to compete in the U11 boys Shot Put as the A thrower he threw 5.81m to take the win in style and this being his first year in U11, well done Harris. Harry Fuller was the U15 boys B Jumper along with Josh he managed 4th place with a jump of 1.35, great job Harry. Isla Taylor competed in the U13 girls Long Jump with a jump of 3.41claiming a 4th place for Team Borders well done Isla. Finally Laura Fuller another first timer to Forth Valley League came 4th in the U11 girls Shot put with a new PB of 4.01 and this after a bribe from mum of an ice cream is she threw over 4m, fantastic job Laura.
